GIROPTIC has this week launched a new Kickstarter campaign for their new 360cam 360 degree camera that has been specifically designed to provide easy real-time streaming video over Wi-Fi. As well as the ability to capture still photos and record video.

The 360cam is the first ultra high definition 360 degree camera that breaks through the limitation of the frame to record the entire experience of the moment in 360 degrees, says it creators. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the 360cam project and see it in action.

Its developers GIROPTIC explain a little more : “For the past two years our team has dedicated its work to overcoming previous 360° technical limitations and has invented a ground-breaking design, with innovative engineering, and easy-to-use interface.”

The 360cam is equipped with three, 185 degree fish-eye lenses with optical assembly that delivers the industry’s largest field of view. Also each of the 360cam lenses are synchronised to simultaneously capture and stitch images in real time.
