Beretta 3032 Tomcat Inox BE831 $0.00. No frame cracks so far on my wide slide version.have to wait and see! This is a Beretta Tomcat 32 caliber ACP pistol. My Beretta Model 3032 INOX Tomcat, which replaced my earlier blued version (in which the frame cracked after less than 500 rounds of RWS hardball) did somewhat better, and digested 2000 rounds of hot CIP-Euro and heavy-bullet hand loads before its frame finally cracked and I junked it too. I too, have a Beretta Tomcat (blued) with a cracked frame. I bought it well before the 'wide frames' came out and noticed the crack while cleaning it after a range session. I sent it back to Beretta and when they finally responded they stated that it should be retired from service and that they`d give me $100 credit towards a new Tomcat. When I bought my Tomcat (for my wife) at Keith's, I expressed concern about the cracked frame history of the guns. They put me touch with the regional Beretta representative who sent me a personal note stating how committed Beretta was to making their customers loyal and happy and inviting me to contact him directly if I had any problems. Also, Beretta has been working with customers, and rumored that even those that are out of their 12 month warranty, to replace the broken Tomcat 3032 black framed pistols with the thicker upper slide Tomcat 3032 INOX version (With an up-charge) that.
I'm looking for some input from those that have owned/carried and shot one. I'm in the market for a pocket gun. I was leaning towards the Ruger LCP, but the Tomcat looks like it might be a little better craftet for longtermdurability. Ammo availability is also an issue. I have seen more shelves with .32 than .380 in my area. I know both have had some quality issues, I just like the thought of carrying steel better than plastic. Oh, and let's not get into a debate about stopping power. I am a .45 guy personally, I'm just in the market for something that could be thrown into a pocket as a back up or primary depending on attire. Having even a .32 or .22 is better than harsh language in a SD situation. Thanks for your time.
